Tips
How to save money on your hardware and software
1. Business Retailers often sell their IT products at a higher price, equivalent to a manufacturer’s SRP (Suggested Retail Price). If you do not need value added services (e.g. a business manager or extended warranty), then save money by buying from retailers like E-buyer or PCWorld.
2. Buy refurbished or end of line stock. It still carries full warranty and only differs in price from brand new stock. Most retailers' websites like Dell, Apple or PCWorld have Clearance or Refurbished sections with prices slashed by up to 40%.
3. Buy and Upgrade. You pay less for competitive upgrades than full price packages. For example, Corel Draw Graphics suite X3 costs £399, but you can buy the upgrade version for just £149! You need to possess a qualifying product although most, like the Micrografx product, can be bought for just £15.
4. Use online discount codes and promotions. Vouchers, discount codes and promotions can save your company hundreds of pounds without much effort. One recent online code allowed potential customers to save 10% off a popular range of Dell servers.
5. Look for packages and bundles. E-buyer, for example, offers discounts when buying bundle and in bulk.
